Women’s Fellowship Outing
Posted Friday 27 May 2011 ~ 12:42pm
Everyone met outside the church at 09.30 to set off by coach for the annual outing, a trip to the gardens at Alnwick Castle.
It was pleasant wandering through the beautifully laid out gardens, trying not to get lost in the bamboo maze, and watching the spectacular fountains. Of particular interest was the guided tour of the poison garden, kept locked because of the marijuana plants (held under a home office licence).
There was time for a light lunch and a browse through the well-stocked gift shop before returning to Melrose.
Though cold, rain kept away until we were back on the coach.
