Members enjoying a day out

On 21st May, over twenty ladies and one gentleman from Holy Trinity Women’s Fellowship met for coffee in the Trinity Centre, before their annual outing. We drove to Kelso, then though Sprouston, Carham and Wark, and arrived at the Collingwood Arms, Cornhill on Tweed for lunch.

There was much lively conversation while we enjoyed our soup and sandwiches or baked potato, in the newly refurbished dining room overlooking the garden.

After lunch we all went to The Hirsel. This estate has been in the ownership of the Home family since 1611. We wandered through the grounds, and the visitor centre, being tempted by the lovely hand-made goods on offer, bags, pottery, jewellery and childrens’ clothes. The tearoom was too good to miss, with its delicious home made cakes, before everyone said ‘goodbye’ and drove back to Melrose.

The weather had been kind, and rain fell only when we were eating lunch. Everyone agreed it had been a most successful and well organised day.

This is the last event in the calendar until the new session begins, on 24th September at 2.30pm in the Trinity Centre.
