Violin Making
Posted Friday 29 October 2010 ~ 9:42am
There was a large appreciative audience for the most entertaining talk by Jim Moxham on ‘Making a violin’
After a career in the fire service, Jim has taught himself to make a violin, and demostrated all the woods required and tools necessary
to complete the task.
Not content with making the instrument, he has now learned how to play it, and the demonstration ended with Jim and his wife Norma (Trudy’s daughter) playing the violin accompanying the audience who sang Scottish songs.
An enjoyable afternoon tea was provided by Pat and Helen
