Vestry Away Day a Success

Vestry members hard at work on their outing
Last Saturday, Vestry members took themselves down to Whitchester and spent the day asking “What is the Church for?“
We looked at what we do and why in relation to those inside, and then to the wider community. Led by Kate Reynolds and Maurice Houston, we used the images of a body and a family to consider what it meants to love other people. Using the liturgy of the Eucharist (which we then celebrated), Kate invited us to think about what it means when we say, ‘Your Spirit lives in us so that we can look at the world with your eyes.‘ What do we see and how do we feel about the world we look at?
As well as thinking and praying we had time for other enjoyments like getting better acquainted and spending time outside and then over lunch together. All in all a good event.
