Here is what Olivia wrote:

Hello to the congregation and friends of Holy Trinity!  I feel obliged to write a follow-up about the concert that took place in the church on Friday 18th June, primarily to thank those of you who attended and helped to make it such a great success, but also to condemn those of you who preferred to go to Melrose book festival!
In May 2009, I was selected through a very stringent selection procedure to become a member of Borders Exploration Group and embark on an international expedition to Chile in July 2010.  One of the requirements of the trip is that each member should raise £2,000 in order to fund the voluntary work that we will be carrying out.  Such work will involve rebuilding a community centre in a rural village that was left devastated after the earthquake in February.  Therefore, in order to complete my fundraising process, I organised a concert in which my brother and sister (Will and Freya), my dad, my friend Hanna Durham and I performed in.  The concert, which included a variety of singing styles, successfully managed to raise over £800, with the added assistance of a very popular raffle and refreshments served in the Trinity Centre.
Therefore, because so many people helped me to reach my fundraising target, I’d like to formally thank a number of people for their kindness and effort.  Most importantly, I’d like to thank Maurice and Anne.  Without hesitating, Maurice allowed me to use the church and the Trinity Centre as a venue, and Anne kindly acted as a ticket seller on my behalf.  Secondly, I’d like to mention Heather, Dianna and Vera, who kindly volunteered to sell refreshments after the concert.  Also, to all the performers, who all brought something different to the event and gave up their evening to support me.  Especially to Nancy Muir, our very reliable and brilliant accompanist, who, even after having to put up with Hanna and me giggling on stage for months during Selkirk Opera’s Calamity Jane in March, had no reservations about playing for us.  And finally to my audience, I was so grateful to see so many of you in the church and thank you so much for attending and buying tickets.
The concert was a major success, not only in terms of fundraising, but as a way of support.  The money that you have helped me to raise will be spent making a difference and will now allow me to do so.  Thank you.
