Like a Pancake party should be

Savoury or sweet, plain or sugary, helped down with a glass (or two) of wine… Once again we celebrated Shrove Tuesday with a pancake party.  Hedydd and Vera kept bringing out fresh pancakes while Diana and Elizabeth made sure we sampled all the flavours, and Tom looked after the wine.  Everyone said they had a great time, and some remarked that it is so good to have plenty of time to spend with each other and catch up on news.  The only difficult thing about the evening was Hedydd’s impossible quiz but in the end David Parkinson won the coveted Shrove Trophy (try saying that after a glass or two) and we all went home.
