Holy Trinity in Melrose has produced its own Advent painting.

Sixteen members of the congregation produced a segment of a painting of the Annunciation by the Chinese artist He Qi. – with a little local variation.

Each person painted a tile without knowing what the adjoining piece looked like. George Stockdill, who masterminded the scheme, assembled them and the whole, finished work was unveiled for the first time during the morning service on 20th December. George spoke about the importance of our different gifts and how, when we put our talents and ideas together, the whole can be greater than the sum of the parts: a beautiful invitation to bring what we have as a contribution for the benefit of all.
